Who?
We are a fun team of female folk dancers called Sinilind (translation: "Blue Bird"), who meets to
learn traditional folk dances and to spend some quality time together.
learn traditional folk dances and to spend some quality time together.
How?
Our dance group was founded in the fall of 2005, when our teacher Lea Kurvits decided that women
living in Elva should be dancing. By today the group has attended in many regional, national and even international dance festivals: Estonian General Dance Celebrations, First Estonian Women's Dance Festival, Southeast Estonian Dance Celebration and in several performances in our own county. In the summer of 2012 the group participated in its first festival outside Estonia, in Euro-Asian Cultural Festival in Turkey.

Why?
Yes, it might seem convenient to lay in front of the TV every evening, but sooner or later you get
bored. To belong to a nice team that occasionally organizes something interesting brings fun into our lives. At trainings while learning new dances we get our skins wet, but through chatting that women anyway like to do, we also regularly update each other on the most recent gossips in our small town - kind of double win situation.
